Dr. Seggie has an MA (1995) in Political Science from the University of Glasgow and an MBA from Sabanci University (2003). He received his PhD with a major in Marketing and a minor in International Business from Michigan State University (2007).

His research interests include corporate innovation, business accelerators, scientometrics, interorganizational relationships, distribution channels, and international marketing strategy. He has published many articles in journals such as the Journal of Marketing, International Marketing Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Business Research, and Industrial Marketing Management. He has been the recipient of several awards including the Article of the Year Award from the International Marketing Review (2009) and the Stanley C. Hollander Teaching Excellence Award from Michigan State University (2006). He serves on the editorial review board for Journal of International Marketing. Dr. Seggie teaches courses on corporate innovation, marketing, retail management, international marketing, marketing strategy, and international business.
