German Law Terminology


Purpose

Due to the dominant influence of German law on Turkish law, this course addresses many potential groups. The course is aimed at students who are interested in German law, who want to study in Germany, academics, lawyers who do business with German-speaking countries (such as Austria, Switzerland), translators who translate or translate from German, in short, those who want to understand German legal texts. In the course, the features of German law, legal professions, legal sources, judicial organization, approximate branches of law will be explained in two languages as much as possible. The basic concepts of the relevant branch of law and legal provisions, if any, will be discussed. In linguistic explanations, the relevant noun, adjective, and verb will be shown. Linguistic analysis of legal texts will be made.

Method

Online, Frontal, course will be in the form of discussing the text and exercise (filling in the blanks) sent to the participants before the lesson on the relevant topic, and answering the questions of the students. An interactive method will be followed whenever possible. Original legal texts, power of attorney, court petitions, prosecution decisions, court decisions will be shown to the participants.


Who Can Participate the Course?

Participants are expected to have at least B1 level of German.

If you do not have a B1 level document, please share the document you have received at least 60 from KPDS-ÜDS-YDS equivalent to B1.
